PROJECT 1: READING THE CONTEXTS OF TRADITIONAL STREETS

This assignment is to teach us ways of reading the crucial “lexicons” of traditional streets through the tangible and intangible qualities of architecture and space. It allows us to have a better grasp of the specific contexts that make up the place identity and socio-cultural meanings of the traditional streets.

The outcome of this project was to produce a sketch journal that includes a written summary.

MY FINAL PRODUCT

MY REFLECTION

This first project was a very fun way to start of the module. I genuinely enjoyed learning about the traditional styles and concepts of architecture. Not only was I able to broaden my knowledge, I even got to express it through a sketch journal of my own creativity. It was clear that this assignment had improved my sketching, drawing and colouring skills which would come in handy for my future projects. Overall, this was one of my favourite assignments and I am pleased to say that I managed to learn quite a lot from it.
