PROJECT 1: DIAGRAMMING WITH ARCHITECTURAL PRINCIPLES
In this group assignment, I had to undergo the process of abstracting & simplifying an idea or concept for it to be more easily understood. It was also necessary to analyze and scrutinize how architecture and their spaces are crafted from their design intentions and the making of architectural elements: architectonics (solid, planes, lines and frames)
MY REFLECTION
From this first assignment, I now understand the importance of diagramming and simplifying complex concepts. As a group, my team and I were able to break down and grasp the concept behind the House with 5 Retaining Walls. Conducting an analysis on a building really helped me learn about the different elements and aspects of design. I have learned that the architectural principles introduced to us in the previous semester plays a vital role in the development of the design process. After this assignment, I felt more confident because I knew I would be able to apply this new set of skills in my future projects.
