For this project, I had to design a structure for self-isolation that also expressed my personal experiences during the pandemic period. I had to conduct research about the timber’s life cycle, joints, joinery and structural quality and how it works with my assigned supporting material.

From Project 1, I furthered my understanding of the design elements and principles, processes and approaches in generating ideas, developing design and translating it from geometry into form. I also explored the tectonical expressions of my selected materials and the dimensions of my body to produce a Tectonic scaled model that encompasses form, understanding of structure and spatial quality.
